Besides being an alum and marrying a girl from California who also became a U of O alum, my dad was a 3 year letterman for the Oregon Basketball team and team captain his senior year. I bleed green and yellow.
One of my fathers' good friends  (and fratnerity brother) was  Bill Bowerman, the infamous  Oregon (and Olympic) track coach and inventor of the first Nike shoes.
The image shown here is Bill Bowerman and Bill Berg being goofy during my dad's 80th birthday party 17 years ago. Bowerman has a seat cushion on his head.Â
My dad was a good amateur photographer and gave me the bug that turned into this wonderful profession.Â
The other photograph is Bill Bowerman with his wife Barbara, also taken during the party in our backyard (behind the studio, here in Springfield...recognize the fence?). Behind them is other quasi-famous people now deceased, Ed Harms, attorney, and John Stafford, architect.Â
